Takeuchi has launched the TCR50-2 crawler dumper in North America, featuring a robust design for handling demanding job sites. This model enhances efficiency and performance, equipped with a powerful 127-hp (94.7-kW) Deutz TCD3.6L diesel engine, which can be paired with various attachments. This versatility makes it suitable for installing utilities such as gas, fiber, water, and electrical systems.
Nick Olsen, Vermeer’s product manager, explained that the TCR50-2’s enhancements result from customer feedback and thorough field testing. The updates aim to boost productivity in challenging environments. Vermeer remains committed to continuous improvement, ensuring their machinery meets industry standards and customer expectations.
The TCR50-2 excels as a multifunctional machine, capable of switching between a trencher, rockwheel, and vibratory plow. This versatility is made possible by interchangeable attachments, which can be swapped in less than an hour. Options include a backhoe, backfill blade, or reel carrier at the front, and a vibratory plow, rockwheel, sliding offset rockwheel, sliding offset trencher, or trencher at the back.
This crawler dumper is outfitted with advanced Vermeer technology, including the TrenchSense electronic control system and the EcoIdle engine control system. These systems ensure smooth operation, prevent stalls, and optimize fuel efficiency. The TCR50-2 also features the Productivity Zone and Auto Plunge technologies, which help determine optimal operating parameters and control the plunge rate for attachments, enhancing overall performance.
The TCR50-2 prioritizes operator comfort and visibility, with conveniently located controls aligned with the seat’s pivoting action. It offers a quiet ride with an isolated, cushioned operator’s platform and an optional climate-controlled cab for all-weather use. The machine can be equipped with rubber tires or tracks depending on job requirements.
As a Vermeer Fleet-ready machine, the TCR50-2 allows owners to monitor operations through Vermeer Telematics. This system tracks engine operating hours, idle time, fuel consumption, fault codes, and the machine’s location. It also includes geofencing capabilities, helping owners optimize productivity and ensure efficient use of the equipment.
