Initially named Dansk Køleautomatik- og Apparatfabrik, the company’s first product was an expansion valve for refrigeration units, marking the beginning of its innovation in heating, cooling, and power management.In the 1940s, Danfoss introduced the thermostatic radiator valve, later patented and promoted as an energy-saving device. The company grew rapidly, leading to the construction of a larger factory by 1945. In the 1960s, Danfoss expanded into power electronics and hydraulics, launching the world’s first VLT Frequency converter in 1968.After Mads Clausen’s death in 1966, his widow, Bitten Clausen, led the company through international expansion. Today, Danfoss employs over 41,928 people globally, continuing to lead in innovation, especially in key markets like China.
