The first CASE CX85E midi excavator has been delivered to Harbour Lights Campsite, located in the stunning Lake District, UK. Supplied by local dealer Dennis Barnfield, the machine is equipped with an Engcon EC209 tilt-rotator and a Trimble 2D machine guidance system, designed to streamline operations and enhance site efficiency.
Harbour Lights Campsite, which remains open year-round, offers a variety of accommodations including tents, caravans, motorhomes, and static holiday homes. Jason Attwood, the owner, is expanding the site by adding 100 new static home plots over the next four years. The CX85E will be essential for constructing concrete bases and completing landscaping tasks, particularly around the site’s picturesque lakes and water features.
Mr. Attwood, with years of experience operating older machinery, selected the CASE CX85E for its comfort and user-friendly controls. The joystick-controlled tracks were particularly appealing, making navigation of the expansive site much simpler.
The machine is equipped with a heavier counterweight for improved stability and lifting capability when using the tilt-rotator. Powered by a Stage V diesel engine, the CX85E delivers 53.7kW (73hp) and offers customizable hydraulic settings, allowing operators to fine-tune the machine’s performance.
As Harbour Lights Campsite grows, the CX85E will continue to play a key role in supporting the site’s development and ensuring its success.
